Where the Internet Took Us

The Captain & Tenile sang “Love Will Keep Us Together,” but we’re starting to think it will actually be the internet that gets the job done.  Check out the latest from composer Eric Whitacre – who issued a YouTube challenge to make his latest song come to fruition.  The 2011 Virtual Choir video features 2052 performances of ‘Sleep’ from 1752 singers in 58 countries, individually recorded and uploaded to YouTube between September 2010 and January 2011. While not the biggest devotees of choral music, we can definitely appreciate the ambition of this project and the cool “holy crap our changing world is getting awesome” factor. Also, our friend Maria is one of the singers – see if you can spot her!
